Quality Assurance

One of the important activity that LMS has embarked on through this section is setting up a Quality Management System (QMS). A QMS has been considered mainly to enhance the quality of our products to the users, as well as to comply with recommended international standards for provision of meteorological services.

 

In realization of the fact that staff training is an integral component in building the capacity of the department, and the quality of our products and services, LMS is continually making efforts to enhance staff training in various areas related to our work. The role that the research and training section plays is to identify training needs and develop a sound training strategy for the department.

Some of the benefits of a QMS as stipulated by the World Meteorological Organization include:

·        Improvement of user confidence and satisfaction because of improved products and services

·        Increased productivity and efficiency

·        Effective action on faults and complaints

·        Clarification of working structure

·        Enhanced quality awareness
